The AES-3000 AT2 Encode System is designed for seamless integration with Pitney Bowes AT2 Product Attaching System. This powerful controller with robust magstripe encode/verify module provides the intelligent machine control and data management functions that are an integral part of the Pitney Bowes OnePass™ System. The AES-3000 brings together data capture and high speed magstripe encode, read and verify capabilities to the card affixing process insuring card-to-carrier integrity. This technology allows for multiple tasks to be performed during the card attaching process:

  • Match - Using a corresponding database, the AES-3000 matches magstripe encoded data from cards to data from carriers captured by a camera or barcode scanner. If a card does not match a carrier, the product is diverted or the production line stops.
  • Capture - Capturing data from carriers using a camera or barcode scanner and capturing magstripe encoded data from cards as they are being attached to carriers, the AES-3000 populates a database of cards on carriers.
  • Personalize - The AES-3000 uses captured barcode or human readable data from the carrier to access a database and encode/verify magstripes on the cards, as well as print variable information onto the cards for complete card personalization. Printing onto the carriers is also achievable as the cards-on-carriers pass by the printer.
The AES-3000 provides for intelligent attaching of ID-1 / CR-80 (credit card size) cards, 30 mils in thickness, to corresponding carriers. This versatile magstripe card attaching system interfaces with a variety of capture devices to insure card-to-carrier integrity at the highest throughput possible.

AES-3000 software interfaces with database systems including MS SQL Server, MSDE and other data management products. AES-3000  software features 509 Technologies’ innovative Data Recipe Builder, which simplifies job setups by facilitating the conversion of flat (text) files into SQL databases for use with the AES-3000. It also accelerates production by allowing users to store job setups for use with new data files.

AES-3000 AT2 Encode System includes:

  • Industrial, Ceramic Chromoly Magstripe Write and Read Heads (life expectancy up to 20 million cards)
  • Manual Verification Station including magstripe swipe reader and/or handheld barcode scanner
  • 509 Controller featuring Data Recipe Builder Software
  • Mounting Brackets & Cables

Like all 509 Technologies solutions, the AES-3000 is scalable and modular in terms of adding multiple production lines and verification options. AES-3000 production lines may be networked and controlled through a central server using 509 Technologies’ powerful Total Data Solution. This network solution multiplies your throughput and reduces downtime by allowing multiple production lines to run a specific job, while continuing to monitor document version, duplicate, missing and out-of-order documents through a central database.

Standard AES-3000 configurations allow for writing and reading of up to three tracks of HiCo and LoCo magstripe data and two optical verification devices. Verification devices such as cameras and scanners are configured to document and application requirements. In addition to standard AES-3000 configurations, 509 Technologies specializes in custom engineered solutions to meet your specific card attaching requirements.
